William Shatner has joined with LNL to release his Sci-Fi novel MAN O’ WAR. Retitled as WAR CHRONICLES it has been produced in the groundbreaking "Cinematic Graphic Novel" format. A CGN is not a regular digital comic, which is comic book pages on a screen. Nor is it “motion comics,” with voiceovers and low-level animation. It is a new and differentiated fan experience. Animation, music and sound effects help bring stories to life, yet the format stays true to a traditional reading experience. There are no actors telling you what a character sounds like – you're reading word balloons and captions just as you've done with comic books and graphic novels for years, where your imagination fills in voices and triggers emotions. You actively read and visualize, not just passively absorb the art and words on the page. Reading might be considered “old school” but actually it is a more imaginative and mentally interactive experience than just staring at a screen.

Stan Lee, co-creator of many of Marvel’s most notable characters and founder/CCO of POW! Entertainment, together with comics great and Deadpool creator Fabian Nicieza, personally introduced GOD WOKE, his first foray into the new digital format called Cinematic Graphic Novels; last Sunday (November 1, 2015) at Comikaze in Los Angeles, CA.

The Cinematic Graphic Novel debuted at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2015 with Season One of William Shatner’s War Chronicles: Man O’ War, based on the novel by William Shatner -- who brought CGN to a wide audience recently on Kevin Smith’s AMC series Comic Book Men.
